Breeding Season
Climate: As an expected spring might be, that is how this summer is. The temperature is warm, but not cold. Rainclouds consistantly block the sun and rain is almost just as consistant.

The grass is high, but intermingled with the green delight lies the rainbow of flowers, each poisonous to any horse that may eat it. The valley lies inside the great mountain range of the large island. The valley hardly has a tree, for the forest is outside the range into the heart. Since the mountains surround the hilly ground, the weather is normally tame. Wind is not unheard of, but strong wind is hard to come by.
| 5 | 342 | Breeding Season... Sat Mar 07, 2009 11:13 pm Kifu | | The Sun-Tipped Mountains is the tallest and largest of the moutains. On the West side of the mountain is a large plateau, where the refugees and loners live. A small, cold spring begins here and continues running down the mountain's side. The elevation makes the vegetation rough, but enough to feed a small amount of horses. The ground is rocky and dangerous for foals, but stallions and mares are welcome here. When the sun rises and sets the gems and jewels glow in the sunlight and cast brilliant light into the valley below.

The peaty smell of the marsh is almost unbearable. Vines and moss hang down from the large, soft trees that root in the marsh. Only small creatures dare to venture here, else they get stuck and are left to die a slow and painful death.
| 3 | 3 | Sensei Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:56 pm Kifu | | Surrounded by sloped, rocky cliffs, the Forget-Me-Not Rapids have a gravity all of their own. Innocent horses, wolves and deer fall in without even knowing how close they are to the edge. The drop into the sharp, biting rocks lasts only a few seconds, but to the victums it seems an eternity. When an unlucky being misses the spears, they are pulled under the icy water and suffocate. There is no escaping these rapids once you are in. The roar of the rapids and the spray of the water is nothing, because it's bite is much, much worse than it's bark.

Small amounts of these light rays reflect off of Spirit Lake and give the illusion that its surface is silver. The thickest of trees are located here. Only animals with small, leathe bodies and a mind of cunning can enter. The deer are among these animals and actually live here. They talk with the spirits of deceased horses and deer who live in the lake to gain knowledge. Deer and spirits talk in whispers, so the clearing with a canopy only hears the rasp of the leaves.
| 3 | 3 | No Name Tue Dec 30, 2008 9:17 pm Lexi Lu | | Imagine a small shaded meadow. The grass is green and knee high and the softest grass you would ever feel on your skin. Trees, not quite saplings, surround the field, making the grass shine yellow only near noon. Just past the trees, almost completely surrounding the whole glade rocky cliffs tower above any horse's head. There are no fear of dogs, of pumas or anything of the sort. The only sound a horse can hear are the whisper of the light breeze sifting through the grass and leaves and possibly the chirp of the crickets. This place is empty almost year-round, except when it comes time for the deer and horses to give birth. Then the colts and fillies play, along with the shy, shy fawns and this place is joyful. Beautiful.
| 28 | 158 | Warm Winds Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:51 pm Kifu | | | | Dark, bare earth never sees the sun. Old, giant oaks soar into the sky, letting only the occasional stray ray of light inside. Blood and sweat from generations lay inches below the hardened soil. This place is home to the sanpuku, the fiercest of the bands. Fights and naming ceremonies take place in this field of great sadness. Some horses meet their doom, few find triumph, but those who do, wish never to enter the Dark Clearing again.
| 2 | 2 | Flower, My Dear... Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:00 pm Kifu | | A myth for mares, a nigtmare for colts becoming stallions, the Gorge of Strength is the place where more colts die than any other cause. For three days the harshness of the heat, the bareness of the ground and the uneveness of the rocks haunt the minds of the sanpuku's colts. Not even the lowest of animals dare to live here, for the Gorge has a terribly parching climate of its own. Hardly ever does it see water and never does it even see a tumbleweed. For sure, it is rightfully named.

The Quiet Forest houses Blood Cave and is also home to the mori band. The mori band is newer to the Forest, but they quickly cleared a small home for themselves. Small, unnamed ponds riddle the forest, along with uncountable rabbit homes. The canopy lets in light, but still, horses who come from this band don't like the wide open. On a good note, the trees are widely spread enough for horses to easily and gracefully gallop through.
| 5 | 136 | Back at Home Thu Mar 19, 2009 3:55 pm Kifu | | Blood Cave is an opening to an underground cavern. Limestone and water drip from the stalagtites and hooves clip off the cavern floor. Faiths are believed to be myth, but in truth, they aren't. They are wicked spirits that refused to live a peaceful life in Spirit Pond. Because of this, they can't go near the pond because of the radiance. The Faith instead choose to live here, in Blood Cave. Blood Cave has more blood from the carnivorous meals the Faiths consume than the water from the slowly growing stalagtites. Bats don't even live down here, because the Faiths and the Faith's slaves only dare to venture into the unsafe region of underground.
