Newton didn't lead his tribe to the Gathering island until every other tribe was a little annoyed at waiting. When Kifu jumped onto the island, Leonard rushed up to her.
"What took so long?"
Kifu twisted her lips to the side and then smiled. "I don't know."
"How can you not know?"
"I . . ." she trailed off. "Leonard, I need to tell you something."
"Shoot."
"No, not right here. Come on, I need to talk to you in private."
Leonard's happy energy instantly fell into a concerned face. "Kifu, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong." She started picking her way through the crowd, where they somehow got sucked up in the middle. "Just follow me and hear what I have to say."
The two jumped over onto the Fire Tribe territory and started walking toward their usual spot. Kifu didn't have the patience to wait--she had already waited for nearly a moon--so she picked up the speed into a light jog. Leonard grew more concerned as he matched her pace.
Finally, when they reached their spot, he blurted, "Kifu, tell me, what's got you?"
Sighing, Kifu answered him. Leonard recoiled in shock.
[[OOC: Hogo, Nicoma, do what you have to do for the Gathering. I'm done. After this Gathering, we'll jump ahead to where Clay and Nicoma graduate to second-stage apprentices, okay?]]
