| this poem is by far my most favorite that I've ever written. Let me know what you think. :)
Down I spiral to the deep abyss I have fallen for the siren's kiss. Now I am to drown, my body consumed The remains of my fate are now to be doomed. All my life, I've been destined to die in the water blue, whether in bravery, or merely being a drunken fool. A sailor knows his life will be at stake the minute he puts his foot upon the gangplank. Now my time is nearing an end, the whirlpool's current has only me to send In the lowest depths of the sea. But, once I'm dead, I'll be free! I'd be a vapor, forever unseen. No longer a sailor, no longer a being. I'm holing my breath, my lungs are burning For the taste of fresh air, and to feel fresh winds turning. Instead, I'm trapped down below In a dark, shapeless spot, where no live man goes. My rapid pace of heart begins to slow, and my stored breath gives one final blow. My frantic kicking and swimming subsides. My air's given out for I haven't the gills of a trout. Now I sink lower, and lower, and lower. Till I am full not of life, but without. | |
