| I used to love swings,
Flowing idly back and forth,
Until my life became one
I could never get off the ride
Go forward, go back, go forward, go back
Nothing ever changed
I wanted someone to grab me
Hold me in forward motion
But nothing happened
So I swung harder
Aiming toward the sky
My eye on the stars
My mom told me I'd fly off
Or go over the edge
"Good!" was all I said
One day I realized
That change was not coming
I would be stuck as a pendulim
I wanted to stay forward, and not go back
To look to the future
Not dwell in the past
So I closed my eyes
Took a chance
