They’re right behind me
I can hear them running
they’re coming closer
And I don’t have to look back to know.

My blood rushes like race cars
my legs move in a blur
I can hear my heart in my head
I can feel my stomach twisting in knots.

I’m moving as fast as light
but why are they getting closer?
They’re breathing in my ear
I can already feel them capture me.

I have to move faster
I pump my legs harder
I force myself past my own limits
the world zooming past me in a flash.

Dodging obstacles in my way
hoping they will slow my hunters down
Jumping, ducking, and Kris-crossing
I can’t afford to lose a step.

So close, so close to my freedom
I can taste it, I can feel it
it’s just at the tip of my fingers
The light, my safety, it’s almost killing me it’s so close.

Ruff hands on my arms
Darkness shadowing my exit
dragging me, pulling me away
reversing my tracks I once stepped in.

I don’t always win
I don’t always get away
Once I get into trouble
I may not be so fortunate as to get out....

I likes. Very descriptive and I almost felt victory, and then disappointment that you (the character) didn't get out.
